The Connecting Chords Music Festival will present cellist Elizabeth Start on Monday, February 27 at 3:00 p.m. at The Fountains at Bronson Place.
Start has spent a life in music, playing with the Moody Blues to Johnny Mathis, Andrea Bocelli to Tony Bennett, and she was commissioned to write a piece for the Kalamazoo Symphony’s 100th anniversary season. She is happy to share some stories as she performs solo cello pieces from Bach to her own compositions, and demonstrates some differences between the cello and an instrument which performed similar roles in Baroque music, the viola da gamba.
Admission is free and open to the public. Allow for extra time to sign-in, and please observe any posted mask protocols.
Support for this performance was arranged through the Kalamazoo Federation of Musicians, with a grant provided by the Music Performance Trust Fund, which is funded by Recording Companies in Canada and the United States.
