Musician's Notes
The Asylum Lake Preserve is a beautiful place to visit year-round. For me, my wife, and our son, time spent there is time spent together – free from the noise of modern life, focused on each other, and on finding our inner balance, as we observe the balance of nature. The preserve is a special place in Kalamazoo, not only because of its natural charms, but because it, like the Kalamazoo Promise, is a treasure in our community That Will Endure.

For pianist/composer Laura Dubin, the serious pursuit of jazz expression began at the age of 12 in her native Rochester, NY. In 2007 she embarked on a 7-year journey of study and performing that brought her to various points in the U.S. and Latin America; and now Laura’s path has come full circle to her hometown.
A virtuoso pianist extensively trained in both the classical and jazz traditions, and well-versed in Latin and film music, Laura melds all of her musical loves into a seamless web of breathtaking creativity and adventurous exploration.
Laura and her husband/drummer Antonio Guerrero are full-time musical partners. They have released eight self-produced albums together. In March of 2020, the couple launched their own Virtual Jazz Club, live-streaming concerts every night at 8:30 pm ET – over 400 consecutive days as of May 2021!
