Artist's Statement
The word “snowbird” stuck with me – people who soak up a Michigan summer, then chase warmth somewhere else. I used a whistle tone inspired by a Brazilian singer to bring that bird-like feeling to life, and the gas stations in the piece made me think about what it means to refuel before heading somewhere new.
